Keeping a trusted link with citizens when everything is shaking: that’s VBN’s promise.

The project
VBN is a crisis-communication solution built for the moments when dialogue matters most: massive message surges, destabilisation attempts, infrastructure under strain. Robust and resilient, it aims to keep a reliable channel open with citizens, even during a cyberattack or a communication overload, with a path toward sovereignty.
A consortium, a programme
VBN is being built as a consortium with Sirris, the collective centre of the technology industry, within STRIKE IT — the cyber-defence innovation programme hosted at A6K, in Charleroi. The idea behind the programme is simple: the best cyber capabilities are built together, by bringing industry, research and Defence around concrete operational challenges.
The kick-off at A6K
The launch marked the shift from selection to action. Six months of structured work now begin: weekly check-ins, monthly reviews, thematic workshops and milestone evaluations. Each project is followed by a steering committee bringing together innovation experts and Defence end-users, to keep development close to real operational needs.
The programme will culminate on December 2, 2026 at A6K, where the teams will present their results and how their innovations strengthen Belgian cyber resilience, both civilian and military.
